On Wednesday, AT&T unveiled four new consumer-friendly smartphones powered by the ever-popular Google Android operating system. The new phones include the Samsung Captivate Glide, the Samsung Glide, the Pantech Pocket, and the ZTE Avail.
The Samsung Glide features a 4.0-inch screen, super AMOLED display, a physical QWERTY keyboard, dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, 1GB RAM, 4G connectivity, front and rear cameras (1.3 ad 8.0 megapixels), and 1080p video recording. It also features 1GB internal storage and a microSD slot expandable up to 32GB.
The Samsung Double Time is a flip-style phone featuring a 3.2-inch touchscreen, rear-facing 3.2 megapixel camera, and a 2GB microSD card.
The release date of both Samsung phones has not yet been revealed, nor has the price point. Both phones, however, are expected to fall in the $100 or less price range.
The Pantech Pocket is a slim-line smartphone powered by the 2.3 version of Android, better known as Gingerbread. It features a 4.0-inch SVGA touchscreen and a rear-facing 5.0 megapixel camera with HD video recording. It also has a wide profile virtual keyboard, 600MBs internal data storage with expansion up to 32GBs, and a 2GB microSD card.
The ZTE Avail is for AT&T's prepaid GoPhone service. It runs Android 2.3 and features a 3.5-inch touchscreen, a 5.0 megapixel camera with video recording, half a GB of RAM and ROM, and a 2GB microSD card. And here is the Video:
Pricing and release info for the Pantech Pocket and ZTE Avail have not been released.
