CyanogenMod 9 Alpha Build For Nexus S

The first alpha-build of CyanogenMod 9 is now available for the Nexus S, thanks to some hard work from Koush and the rest of the CM crew. The most exciting part of this announcement is that the ROM has been tested and approved by the CyanogenMod team, and has been deemed fit for mainstream consumption. According to Mr. Dutta’s post, “Everything seems to be running great so far, and this ROM can easily be a daily driver for most enthusiasts.” The ROM is currently on build #11, and the changelog says the only issues you’ll experience are choppy video playback and an apparently flakey MMS experience — both of which I could easily deal with for an early taste of Android 4.0. With this first release, it’s only a matter of time before we start to see some official CM9 nightlies with support for additional devices.
