LG G Pad 8.3 Google Play edition launches on the Play Store for $349.99

LG G Pad 8.3 Google Play edition
The 7-inch tablet form factor just took off, gaining crazy popularity in the budget market. The Nexus 7 is the perfect example of that, coming in at $230 while offering some competitive specifications. It’s a great tablet, but such a size simply doesn’t suit everyone. And with the poor state of the current Nexus 10, those who like larger tablets have had nothing to buy if they wanted the stock Android experience. Until today, of course. Google and LG have released the LG G Pad 8.3 Google Play edition tablet to the Play Store. Long thought to be the best compromise in size, this tablet’s 8.3-inch display is large enough to please those who think 7-inch is too small but small enough to still be portable and easily used vertically.
The device comes with an 8.3-inch 1920 x 1200 display, a 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 quad core processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage with a microSD slot, a 5MP rear and 1.3MP front camera, a 4,600 mAh battery and of course Android 4.4 KitKat in its stock form. Plus, the tablet is only 8.3mm thick and weighs only 338 grams. That’s a lot of 3s and 8s.
Of course, being a Google Play edition device, it’ll come with all the Google goodies and the promise of quick updates. The updates will be handled by LG, but looking at Samsung’s and HTC’s performance updating their GPe devices, LG should do a decent job.
If you’re interested in picking one up, head to the source link. The device will set you back $349.99 and will ship in 1-2 business days. Even better, there’s free ground shipping for a limited time. Tell us what you think of this new device in the comments!
