[Update: More Info] Nexus 6P Leak Shows USB Type-C, Snapdragon 810 & More

On Tuesday, Google is going to be taking the wraps off of the Nexus 5X and the Nexus 6P in San Francisco. Now a presentation slide for the Nexus 6P has leaked out, and confirmed a number of features and specs of the Nexus 6P. There’s not really any surprises here, but it does help to confirm these specs of the new Nexus 6P.
According to this presentation slide, we’re looking at a 5.7-inch WQHD resolution display, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 v2.1, as well as a 3450mAh battery inside. It’s going to be powered by Android 6.0 Marshmallow, that’s not surprising. We basically knew that already. It’s also going to weigh in at about 178g. It’s also going to have dual front-facing speakers as well as an aluminum unibody.

It will also be featuring Gorilla Glass 4 from Corning and available in aluminum, graphite, gold and frost. The slide does state that the Gold is only going to Japan for now, which is a bit surprising. The slides also confirm the 32GB, 64GB and 128GB storage models with the Nexus 6P.
The slide deck also confirms the fingerprint reader on the back of the Nexus 6P. Which is also part of Android 6.0 Marshmallow this year, so we should see plenty of integration with the fingerprint sensor here.

In some of the pictures in this set of slides, you can see that the camera bump at the top isn’t as pronounced as we had once thought, from previous leaks. It’s still a bump, but not as big of one as we had thought.

There is a ton of info in these slides, which you can see them all in the gallery below. While there is a lot of info in these slides, there’s still a number of details that we don’t have yet, but we should have next Tuesday in San Francisco.

Google is looking to announce two smartphones this time around, with a smaller Nexus 5X coming from LG. We could possibly see a slide deck for the Nexus 5X coming out this weekend ahead of the event on Tuesday. So we’ll be keeping our eyes open for all of that and see what else we can find before the announcement on Tuesday. Which starts at 8am PST, which is quite early actually. That’s 11am EST, and 4pm GMT.

Update: We got more information on the specs. Specifically more information on the RAM, camera, screen, and dimensions:
  • The screen will use an AMOLED panel (the same display type as the Nexus 6 and most high-end Samsung designs), not the more typical IPS-LCD
  • The phone uses 3GB of RAM.
  • The rear camera is 12.3 megapixels with an F-stop rating of 2.0. If that seems a bit low for a flagship, it's because the sensor design uses 1.55 μM pixels, which are designed to capture more light than a conventional sensor, much like HTC's former phone designs with "ultrapixel" cameras. The resolution of final images may be less than 12.3 megapixels. The 5 megapixel front-facing camera uses 1.4 μM pixels (the standard design).
  • The Nexus 6P's official dimensions are 159.4 x 77.8 x 7.3mm. That's about the same width as the Nexus 6, slightly shorter, and almost 3mm thinner.
