Google Announced Android 7.1.2 Public Beta Rolling Out Today


Today, Google just announced that the first Android 7.1.2 public beta which is rolling out as early as today to supported devices. Ready for the next Android maintenance release? 




At this time, we don’t know much about Android 7.1.2, Google says in a blog post that Android 7.1.2 is a maintenance release that will bring a number of changes focused on refinements, including bugfixes, optimizations, and a handful of carrier specific fixes.so it includes a number of bugfixes and optimizations, along with a small number of enhancements for carriers and users.” Yep, that’s all we know until that beta shows up.

As with past releases, users can, of course, sideload the update manually, but they can also sign up for over-the-air updates via the Android Beta Program


Devices supported out of the gate for the Beta include the Pixel and Pixel XL, Nexus 5X, Nexus Player, and Pixel C. The Nexus 6P will join the party “soon.” The final release won’t be here for a “couple of months.”
