Google Pixel 2 And 2 XL Gets TWRP In Alpha And Moto G5 And More Gets Stable

If you are into rooting and trying custom ROMs, you definitely heard about TWRP. The king of all custom recovery. Not only it is the best it supports large amount of devices and the developers keep working to add more. Today, Google's latest flagships Pixel 2 and Pixel 2XL get a taste of TWRP with the alpha version and stable versions for few others.

Here are the new devices which are TWRP- supported devices :

  • Google Pixel 2 (walleye)
  • Google Pixel 2 XL (taimen)
  • LG Stylo 3 Plus (sf340n)
  • Motorola Moto G5 (cedric)
  • Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017) (j7popltespr)

Take a note if you are an Pixel 2 owner, both, the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL recoveries are in alpha version. Decrypting and MTP do not work, and backups cannot be made. It's also unclear what a factory reset will do. For these reasons, this method only works to temporarily boot TWRP; a permanent install is not currently possible.

If you'd like to install TWRP on any of these phones, you can follow the links above or grab them from TWRP's official app below :
