LG Optimus G will Receive Android 4.4 Update This Month Says SFR

It’s nice to see that LG will provide Android 4.4 support for their Optimus G, especially that the smartphone is almost two years old. According to folks at SFR France Website, LG Optimus G update Android 4.4 KitKat is currently under testing and it will be released soon. According to the same carrier, the Android 4.4 update for LG Optimus G will probably release their update this month.
French website SFR is known for its leaks and teased Android update schedules, but some of the time their predictions are not exactly accurate. But, this time they got proof with a  screen shot of the About Phone menu, showing an Android 4.4.2 build running on an LG Optimus G, which gives a bit more credibility to the report. They even note that the version running on the terminal is a test build.

But the same French carries SFR doesn't seem to have the changelog yet but we can expect the new software to arrive with the usual KitKat goodies such as transparent status and nav bars, white status bar icons, cloud printing, color emoji support, new Location menu, full screen album art in the lock screen, or immersive mode, along with tweaks for LG’s proprietary skin and Knock On.

If you want to know when the update will start rolling out, the new software update will be rolled out in phases, meaning that the ETA may vary depending on your carrier or location. As you may know, once your LG Optimus G becomes eligible to receive the new software update you will see a notifications about system update in the notification bar. Tap on it, then follow the on-screen instructions. If the system update notification failed to show up, you would also want to check for the update manually under Settings > About phone > Software updates > Check for software updates.
