YouTube Launches 4K Live Streaming

If you're a YouTuber that does a lot of livestreaming, get ready to do that streaming in 4K. Google announced that now you can 4K the live streams, which means both standard streams and those in 360-degree formats.

Here’s what Google has to say about the launch of 4K live streaming:

For creators this means the ability to take advantage of an incredibly clear picture for recorded and now streaming video. It’s the kind of thing that can help to push their hardware (and their talen) to create the most beautiful or just plain crazy-looking images and videos possible. And with 360 4K live streams, the sky is (literally) the limit.
Live streams will look much cleaner. And since 360-degree videos get the feature as well, that could be amazing experiences at concerts or other public arenas. While the feature will be great for streaming events such as the Game Awards, outlets will no doubt find other uses. It’s only a matter of time before we see a 4K live stream of puppies.
