Google Says They Are ‘Actively Investigating’ Reports of Pixel 2 XL Screen Burn-In

Google Pixel 2 XL is in the news, not because how amazing the device is, but its bad issues. Recently, people were reporting some grainy textures and muddy colors which you view the device in a low light but now it is keep getting worse. Alex Dobie from Android Central reported when you look at the screen with a gray background, you can see faint outlines of the phone’s navigation buttons on the bottom and not only him but now people keep seeing this issue on their Pixel 2 XL.

Here is the picture of the issue and can confirm many other people are seeing the same issue on their device :

The Screen burn-in is not a rare issue but coming up in just a week is the problem. Usually Screen burn-in happens when the device is old not brand new and just a week old.

Whatever it is, it’s worrisome, so TheVerge reached out to Google for comment, and here’s the response from a spokesperson in full:

The Pixel 2 XL screen has been designed with an advanced POLED technology, including QHD+ resolution, wide color gamut, and high contrast ratio for natural and beautiful colors and renderings. We put all of our products through extensive quality testing before launch and in the manufacturing of every unit. We are actively investigating this report.
If it really is genuine screen burn-in, it’s a really big problem. Many screens, especially OLED screens, do begin to exhibit burn-in over time. But that time span is usually measured in multiple months or even years, not days or weeks.

We will be updating you all on this issue in future. Stay tuned.
