Google Releases February’s Android Security Update For Nexus And Pixel Devices

New month, new Android Security Update. Google just released February 2018 security patch for Nexus and Pixel devices with the 3rd party access for camera apps with Pixel Visual Core. Both factory image and OTA files are available, so choose whichever works best for you if you don’t feel like waiting for the update to show up on your device.

The dedicated bulletin for Google’s phones and tablets lists 29 security fixes and 10 functional updates. One of the major additions for the Pixel 2 is the activation of the Pixel Visual Core in third-party apps. At launch, Instagram, Snapchat, and WhatsApp will be able to take advantage of HDR+ and other features found the in the Google Camera app.
