[Leaked] Huawei Mate 30 Pro With Circular Quad Camera Module And More

The famous leaker Oneleaks has published detailed CAD renders of the Huawei Mate 30 Pro which gives us a clear look at the phone’s circular camera setup.

The renders also confirm that the Mate 30 Pro will come with a notch at the front. Given that almost all major flagships have done away with the notch, it is surprising to see Huawei stick to it on the Mate 30 series. The notch will house the IR sensors required for a Face ID-like unlock experience as seen on the Mate 20 Pro from last year.

As for the circular camera hump, it will house a quad-camera setup. This will include two 40MP sensors, an 8MP telephoto sensor with 5x zoom, and a 3D ToF sensor. The primary 40MP camera will feature an f/1.6 aperture in RYYB pixel layout. The secondary 40MP camera will feature an ultra-wide-angle lens with a 120-degree field of view.

The phone is expected to come with a waterfall display which will spill over to its edges. The waterfall display makes it difficult to measure its length, though it is pegged to be around 6.6-inches. The device will measure 158.1 x 73.6 x 8.7mm, with the thickness increasing to 9.7mm around the camera hump.

Other specs of the Mate 30 Pro as confirmed from the renders include an IR blaster, USB-C port, and a power button located on the right side. There are no physical volume buttons and rumors point to it coming with a touch-sensitive panel on which users can slide their finger to adjust the volume.

The Huawei Mate 30 series will be unveiled on September 19th in Munich. The handset will be powered by Huawei’s in-house Kirin 990 chipset which the company will unveil later this week at IFA 2019.
