HTC One M8 Will Be Updated to Android M, Confirms HTC's Mo Versi

According to HTC's Mo Versi, the HTC One M8, which got updated to Lollipop earlier in the year, won't be forgotten when it comes to the latest and greatest Android M, too.

Whatever the new version gets called - Marshmallow, Muffin, or M&Ms - last year's HTC flagship will be basking in its under-the-hood and over the top improvements at some point, after Google releases the source code to manufacturers in the fall.

When exactly will that be remains to be seen - last year, Google outed the Lollipop source code to the industry on november 3rd, and HTC immediately promised an update within three months of the release, delivering on this for its unlocked and Google Edition phones, while carrier versions got it a bit later in the spring. If things follow the same schedule, HTC One M8 owners could be looking at a late January upgrade at the earliest, unless they don't mind loading custom ROMs, of course.
